Lead by example.

Welcome to the Global Equality Collective, the award winning diversity and inclusion programme for schools. Our knowledge-based benchmarking tool provides a 360-degree review of your whole school's status, and delivers a bespoke pathway of resources to guide you through making improvements.

The GEC Platform is the world’s first hyper-diverse, fully intersectional DEI edtech platform.

Multi-award winning, accessible and elegant, the GEC Platform illustrates the future of innovation when it comes to transforming cultures, from our boardrooms to playgrounds.

How does it work?

Woman with her eyes shut and fingers crossed and the messaging: "Access to inclusive classrooms is too often down to luck. Together we can ensure it's not.."

The GEC Platform simplifies the process of working towards inclusion, diversity and well-being initially with our Staff Module, for all staff - from site team to SLT & governors, support staff to curriculum teams.

Our Staff Module includes 2 simple award-winning and academically tested check-box surveys; one self-assessment for the leadership of your organisation, and one staff survey (with inbuilt Anti-Racist monitors and the Modern Sexism Scale). This is for all members of staff, from site team to SLT. Results are immediate with built-in recommendations for each and every section, question, standard and statement - all quality assured by the Global Equality Collective.

Next, plan your personalised DEI road map with the ‘GEC Action Plan’ with these evidence-based recommendations and our ‘Netflix’ style training hub, the ‘GEC Library’ boasting over 230 CPD materials for all of your staff, for the entirety of your GEC Membership.

Once you have this in place, you can then bring in our Student Module (see here)! You simply repeat the same 4 steps again.

What do we get with the Staff Module?

  • Our state-of-the-art technology has been created with leading software developers, researchers and educators to ensure that you can get your data, analytics and training in one place. Your dashboard will also help with the next steps of your implementation and is easy to share with stakeholders.

  • Designed around a break-time, this whole organisational leadership assessment takes 15-20 minutes for an individual or under an hour for a team to complete. This is the snapshot of your organisation and your starting point. This illustrates the scope of the Staff Surveys and enables you to benchmark where you are today. We do not share this - so you can be confident in both the privacy this offer and providing an honest reflection on your DEI progress to date. Once completed you get immediate results and are awarded our GEC Membership badge to show you are on your way!

  • Taking a good 30-40 minutes, this is the ultimate staff survey for DEI. Co-designed with clinical psychologists, DEI experts and school improvement leads, this survey is an education in itself.

It is for all teams in your organisation as the GEC knows that every person counts. Comment boxes are included, pulse surveys and then likert responses to support your RAG data, bespoke for your organisation.

With Anti-Racist monitors and the Modern Sexism scale, this survey is a deep dive into policy, practice, attitudes and values for every layer of your organisation.

Designed with the user experience at the forefront, we have a 91% engagement rate as a result of our ‘bubble wrap’ style buttons, easy access through a ‘magic link’ for staff on any device, and complete anonymity for your people - even we cannot match the data with the people at our end.

  • Quantitive data

The responses from your Self Assessment and Staff Surveys are based on ‘RAG’ (red, amber and green) responses, you can easily read your data that is immediately analysed by our innovative and pioneering tech.

This is presented initially in sections and then you can access each and every question through elegant drop down tools.

    Qualitative data

Comments are showcased back so no need for awkward interviews and focus groups to now hear the voices of all of your staff.

    The building block of analysis

Filtering by groups, settings or our sections has never been so easy - and clicks have been minimised as we know you are time poor.

    Evidence-based outcomes

Action is the reason we want you to have the data - so this is all included. As you view your results, you will see that included in this are the ‘Recommendations’ created by the Collective. Easy to read, action and embed - these then take you into the next step of the platform, the GEC Action Plan.

    Result

The data you will receive will decrease your work load, illustrate the voices of everyone in your organisation like never before.

  • Being the “world’s first DEI” technology means that it is only us that can provide clear intersectional data when it comes to your organisation.

Being able to filter several layers deep with demographics is not only what we do - it is what you will be able to do too.

We also go beyond the Equality Act (2010) so you can surface and analyse the 9 protected characteristics, but also single parent rights, socio-economic status, menopause, neurodiversity and even review elements like miscarriage and flexible working.

Our work is the most thorough DEI data analysis out there - and it has been designed to protect and serve your people, and to help you protect your inclusive and diverse workforce too.

All the data is based on your people - complete bespoke to the snapshot provided - so each year you will be able to compare where you are, what is working and understand the experiences of your people.

  • Our unique GEC Action Plan takes you from the data into action. Once you have the data from your Staff Survey, you can attach action-based recommendations to your bespoke outcomes.

You merely choose which you would like to add - hit ‘Add to Action Plan’ and create the steps of your roadmap based on your unique data set.

This evidence-based approach means that you can create an internal roadmap for intersectional inclusion - which can also be used to illustrate your progress and timeline externally.

Included in this also are calendar so you can map when you will do this, a priority indicator and comment box - where you can not only add in who and what and how - but update with links to the work you have achieved as a result of this.

Your GEC Action Plan will roll over year on year plus we have built-in customisable ‘blocks’ so you can add in the work you are already doing or just create your own.

  • We are especially proud of this functionality. Part of the GEC’s aim is to make DEI accessible for all places of learning. The recommendations are your inbuilt ‘DEI coach’ - each and every recommendation written to give you all the information and education you need to break your own new ground, without the need to bring in a consultant.

These recommendations have been written and QAed several times over, in terms not only of DEI but whole organisational improvement and academic pedagogy in education.

For every single standard, question and survey response, you have 1-3 recommendations to give you the building blocks to action.

  • The GEC Library is the ultimate DEI training hub. Accessible on all devices and for all of your teams, this one-stop professional development suite contains training, coaching and materials from the leading DEI experts in education from across the globe.

We believe DEI education is made up of two parts.

    Lived Experience

Our human library of content comes from a place of compassion and research - we know that observed indirect lived experience supports positive education around bias and discrimination. Therefore our films by the Collective aim to inform and create empathy, so are accessible, honest and often fun!

    Structured training

E-learning modules across the ‘Global Equality’ characteristics help support your staff understand everything DEI and how you roll this out. We call them the GEC Playbooks.

These have been QAed by the Collective and online learning experts, researchers and academics.

Content provides a cradle to retirement roadmap of content, with early years to post16 materials included throughout. This means if you are a nursery, all-through school or college, you can trust us to educate all of your educators.

We also work with non-curriculum specialists, so the GEC Library can be used with your school business leaders, support staff and volunteers. We even have materials that can be used with your students and families!

Each Playbook starts with an introduction to the topic and exploration of the language used. Then you experience the impact of this topic or marginalised community in education.

Zooming out from this, you are then provided with reflection opportunities, activities for members of your teams, reading lists, videos and more! Combined with articles, coaching opportunities and CPD resources from our Collective, this is “the ultimate DEI pick and mix”!

  • The GEC Champions Network is part of our offer to you, so your designated ‘GEC Champion’ has a safe community to be part of as you roll out the surveys, action your action plan and share the Library across your organisation.

These monthly meetings are a place to ask questions, listen to best practice and network.

This is only open to GEC Members within their membership.

You will also receive our termly newsletter and get early access to our events and webinars.

We are always keen to promote your work - with our community and in the GEC Platform, so if you would like to be a case study school or share your work with others, this is the community for you!

  • You can now request this directly from your GEC dashboard or contact the team to get this added when you sign up or once you are in!

  • The GEC Platform is the app of our time. It deliberately does not shy away from asking organisations deep thought provoking questions about equality. The best bit is it not only asks questions of organisations... but it also has the answers too!

Chris Jackson, Headteacher, Avonwood Primary School, UK

  • This is much more than an app or an accreditation. The GEC Platform is a one stop shop of curated research, analytics, expert sector voices, ready-made CPD tools & resources, peer reviewed reading recommendations & a supportive community. This is a springboard to real & ongoing whole scale organisational change and development.

Emma Turner FCCT, DSAT & Research Lead. Author of ‘Let’s talk about flex’ & ‘Be More Toddler’

  • The GEC Platform is a brilliant empathetic reflection tool for organisations. The potential for it to help education to get better at being more conscious of how we can work together in a way better way is incredible.

Scott Hayden, Basingstoke College of Technology

  • The GEC deals with equality & inclusion from early years to post-16. If people are going to change, all parties need to be on board. The work that the GEC do is invaluable and I am sure that the outcome will be that we don't need to talk about stereotypes & equality. They will be a thing of the past.
